Korona also had offers from Washington State, Kansas, SMU, Houston, Tulsa, Texas-San Antonio and North Texas State. Duke's academics were a major influence in his decision, but he also sees a winning football program being built.

Korona was playing tight end as a junior but was moved to left tackle to fill in for an injured player and became an honorable mention all-district player. He has 5.1-second speed and also competes in the discus and shot put for his school's track-and-field team.

Korona said that Duke recruited him to play either offensive tackle position.

"I just kept getting better and better at tackle last season," he said. "I've built my strength and my confidence since then. I need to put on a few more pounds, and I'm sure I'll be redshirted, but right now I live in the weight room."

We have been UNT since 1988.. .how the hell do we keep getting called NTSU?

Uh, it's the Wall Street Journal; we've just got to win, baby, win to get any respect from them. Do well enough and they may give us coverage like they did Euless Trinity football a few years back.

Blame the old dudes. I'm guessing that it will go away in time, but the fact is that most of our "national success" occurred when we were known as NTSU. Excepting the fairly recent N.O. Bowl run of course. I suspect that this will finally start to go away for good after this upcoming athletic year.
