Many of you know Troy Kokjohn, who was a 4-year letterman and outstanding special teams contributor for the Mean Green and his dad Kevin. Troy and Kevin are both big Mean Green fans and supporters. Troy has now graduated from UNT and has started his own company. We are pleased to announce that Kokjohn Deep Snapping will now be advertising as a sponsor of GoMeanGreen.com.

As some of you know, my son will be a 9th grader this year and we have been fortunate enough to enlist the services of Kokjohn Long Snapping in his quest to be a deep snapper and center for his high school team. If you have kids, or have family and friends with kids that play or plan to play football, you should let them know about this fine service. In just one session, we saw a dramatic improvement in my son's technique. For many kids, deep snapping is a great way to get on the field early in their high school careers. Greatness...I am happy to do all I can to help refer.....great looking web site as well. GO TROY...a member of the Great Mean green nation. I hope the Mean green nation can help get the word out to HS Coaches they know and to players HS and Jr. High who could benefit from Troy's instruction. Let's give Troy a hand.

      I don't think you guys are getting it. Ok, make the s16. Cool. Then we'll talk about how we can't get to 5k att because we have to make an e8. Then it'll be because we've never made a f4. Or 19/25 years this century we have played .500 ball or better. Until the CULTURE gets shifted it will always be something. We need an AD that has a fire in his belly and a vision to shift the culture to where it needs to be and be vocal about that vision. If Jared can't do it or doesn't know how then he needs to go. It's bare minimum job responsibility stuff...

      I definitely understand why you should do it. I'm just too honest of a guy... at this level regular season championships mean zero. I still get a bad taste when every time we refer to last year's women's teams as conference champions when we were the 2 seed in the tournament.

      I agree. Eight consecutive winning seasons and so far only one Big Boy Tournament to show for it. I'm not even asking for a FAU run (yet), but we need to get to the second weekend of the Tournament. Sweet 16, please baby Jesus. One of those two wins needs to be over some relevant-to-this-area Big XII/SEC team, not some high-seed Mountain West or Big East school. The same year we captured our first NCAA Tournament win was the same year Abilene Christian took out Texas, I believe. Get to the Sweet 16 and then have a Gregg Marshall-like run of success - seven straight Tournament/Top 25 appearances, six straight years with at least one NCAAT win, a trip to the Final Four sprinkled in. It may sound silly, but at this point I think a fourth straight NIT appearance does nothing to help the outsiders - unengaged alumni, conference mates, and casual college basketball fans - think higher of UNT. I always want to see us compete in postseason basketball after so many years of it, and the NIT shouldn't always be considered a failure, but the second weekend of the NCAAT, when there are fewer teams left, fewer games and most of the nation would be watching our game... that's what we NEED right now.
