Did Lance ever do kick returns while at NT?

He definitely did punt returns--I think I remember him back fielding kickoffs as well, but I'm not sure. And I'm certainly not motivated enough to go back and look through the past few seasons' cumulative statistics.

Question- does Lance get paid for these rookie camps? Is he under any type of contract?

---I think they get a little, enough to meet expenses, but not enough to call it a salary. The contract doesn't kick in until they make the team (first week of season) . Most undrafted ones just get a league minimum salary...when the season starts..

--Apparently the NFL league minimim is $405,000 once you make the team... [ lowest salary I see listed ] not sure what practice squad players make but it is less.

that's still a ton of money! I'll take it.

I'm not positive but I think practice squad guys get about a quarter of that, totally un-guaranteed, and sweet insurance coverage.

As a diehard Lance/Cowboys fan I'm praying they see the light and keep him over Tanner because there's no way in my mind some other team doesn't swoop in and grab him up before he lands on the practice squad. Just like Carolina stole Matt Moore a couple years ago.

I think he did some KO returns early in his career. But I'm guessing that when it became apparent that he would be our feature back, and a big producer at that position, they took him off such hazardous duty.

      TX State to the PAC 2?

      It’s interesting because I know the perception of the new PAC and AAC is that the PAC will be stronger, but where would Texas State rather go? It seems like AAC for a variety of reasons. I’m not convinced the new PAC is better than the AAC. UNLV and New Mexico holding back in the MWC, with the Northern Illinois and GCU ads have the future PAC in a bit of limbo. They have to keep performing or they will fall back fast. The SBC and AAC currently are the more stable forces, hence a certain level of power and leverage lives there. To me the PAC must break the bank to get Memphis or they are not going to lift on takeoff. GMG

      Join the Infantry in Houston - Tuesday, 2/11 at 8pm

      Rob Lanier, former SMU head coach, found out what the Infantry could do last February at Moody Coliseum. So when he moved over to Rice, inside sources suggest he slipped Tim Spaghetti some cash to make sure his home game against UNT would be on a weeknight this season. But I say, "Too bad, Rob! You can't escape us!" If you're in Houston, or are retired and can make the trip, or want to use a couple of half days like I did, join us at the terrible Tudor Fieldhouse on Tuesday, 2/11 at 8 p.m. The game has the later start because it'll be on ESPNU as the "west coast game." There are just under a hundred seats left behind our bench which would be group-rated at $25. For the second straight year I want to sell the section out. What'll make it better is the sea of green will be on national TV. It'll be different without Scott Screamin' Pera on the Rice bench, but we'll still have plenty to taunt Lanier about. Like how his son has to follow him around to maintain a D1 scholarship. And don't forget the UNT Dallas debacle. Here's what we did last year. We bought about 70 tickets, plus whatever the team was allotted, and the local alumni who bought on their own. If you are interested in joining our group for the game, message me. I've got pending communication out with the Houston alumni chapter to see if they will plan to do anything before the game like last year.       No. You're wrong. You're wrong on a few different levels. 1st level is that you're putting too much stock in Memphis... they're on pace to be 25-6. If they lose in our tourney, you're suggesting that Memphis will be a 7 loss mid major at large? Maybe. But that's not guaranteed, at all. Next, you're putting a potential 28-5 team, per the scenario given, not in the field. Maybe, but highly doubtful. It's OK for the AAC to be competitive just because uh isn't in it anymore.
