Yep...I don't doubt that he's narrowed his choices to Brooklyn or Dallas but he isn't coming here. Nets can offer him more money and the big and prized free agents just don't come to the Mavericks. I hope I'm wrong but I just don't see it happening.

The Mavs have never had the cap space to go after a big free agent.

If he doesn't think the Nets can get Dwight Howard he won't resign. Deron wants to win now and he'll have a better opportunity to do that with the Mavs than a Howard-less Nets.

Howard won't walk away from Orlando for nothing. The Nets do have the players to give should they need to do it. A sign and trade of Williams can happen if he really wants to play and Dallas and still get his money. But it is far fetched to say the least. As for the better opportunity to with the Mavs...while I agree with you to a point he'll be joining a 34 year old Dirk who will have a typical Dirk season for 1 or 2 more seasons and after that he'll be a role player. I just don't see the master plan coming to fruition because free agents in general always talk about Dallas and playing for Cubes and with Dirk but they've never came here unless if Dallas had to do it via trades. Just don't see it. I hope I'm wrong but I have my doubts.

Besides the obvious double negative issue, I disagree. Howard doesn't know what he is going to do tomorrow, let alone after the season. He can walk away from Orlando for a number of reasons. If they don't start to put a team around him this year, I wouldn't be surprised if he was trying to get traded before the deadline.

Even if he wants to get traded he won't have a say where he's going unless he really puts his foot down and dictates what Orlando can and can't do and I'm not sure Dwight will do that. Orlando will want something in return and Dallas offers nothing. Only NJ and LA seem like the most realistic choices where he could end up via trade. I just think this whole Howard and Williams to Dallas is a pipe dream and even Williams alone coming here I just don't think it will happen. If Deron and Dwight want to still pair up together then the most logical place to do it without any severely negative images would be in NJ. Williams stays in NJ and Dwight soon follow this season and still wants a trade because Orlando still fails to put anything of substance around him so therefore Orlando trades him to NJ for the young players like Morrow, Lopez, Humphries etc.

Again I hope and hope Williams and/or Howard come to Big D but I don't see that happening.

Predicting what Dwight will do is impossible. That said, he could also just wait out his contract for the season and go wherever. Didn't mention that Howard would come to Dallas, not convinced that will happen. Williams to the Mavs is a possibility. He is from the area and may want to come back. The latest trend in the NBA is not always to take the highest value contract. We will have to wait and see how everything shakes out, but I am not going to completely count Cuban out of the D-Will sweepstakes.

I want D-Will. I do not want Dwight.

I think Dwight is transcendent worthy. While Williams is beyond awesome I think it is easier to build a championship caliber team around Howard than Williams in my opinion. Now if he can just improve his damn free throws he could be counted on for offensive production in the closing of games.

I think he's a semi-soft drama queen with an incredibly knack for meaningless points and disappearing acts.

Won't disagree with you there...he did seem to dramatize a lot this past year or so. And for what it is worth Stephen A Smith is convinced that Howard pretty much only wants to play in Brooklyn. If that is the case then I don't know if there is a chance he will leave Brooklyn since they may still have that wink wink of joining forces.
