Where does the Big East fit into the playoff model?

BCS conference commissioners agreed in April to eliminate "AQ" and "non-AQ" status . . sources close to the BCS conversations say it's clear that the big five leagues -- ACC, Big 12, Big Ten, Pac-12 and SEC -- no longer consider the Big East part of their group.

Wait. You mean to tell me that replacing West Virginia caliber teams with UCF and SMU isn't a recipe for nationwide success? Hmmm, I'm sure NOBODY saw that one coming. How soon til ESPN and the rest demand a renegotiation of that contract?

They don't need to. The Big East turned down a new deal that would have continued to pay them AQ type money. Instead they are looking at getting a contract closer to what those of C-USA and the MWC are valued at. I hope this causes the BE to break up with USF, UCF, SMU, Houston, and Memphis going to C-USA, Rutgers, Cincy, Temple and UConn going to the MAC, BSU and SDSU going to the MWC, and Louisville going to the Big 12, though I'd much prefer them coming back to C-USA but that isn't realistic.
