But Oklahoma was too strong as it led the 75th Annual Oil Bowl from start to finish, capping its 30-20 victory with a dazzling 54-yard run by Sheldon Wilson in front of 7,000 fans.

Oklahoma took a 10-0 halftime lead with a strong defense that allowed only three first downs and a strong start in the air by Offensive MVP Brent Wilson of Ponca City.

Brent Wilson went 4-for-4 the first time Oklahoma had the ball and capped the 71-yard drive with an 11-yard strike to tight end Matthew Hermann of Tulsa Union.

The quarterback finished 7-of-7 for 99 yards and two touchdowns. One of those was to future Emporia State teammate Mitchell Foote, who scored on a 3-yard slant pass from Wilson in the third quarter and a 21-yarder from Garrett Clark in the fourth quarter.

After the fans saw only one touchdown in the first half, those that stayed around to the end saw three touchdowns in the span of 164 seconds late in the fourth quarter.
