Free agent Brad Miller, an Eastern Conference All-Star center last year, looks to be heading to the Sacramento Kings in a three way deal.

The Kings will send backup center Scott Pollard to the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers would also get g/f Hedo Turkoglu, and both he and Indiana g Ron Mercer would shuffle off to San Antonio. Don't know if the Spurs are trading anyone at this point.

Looks like a good deal for all concerned.

This trade is not that big of a deal.

The Kings replace Miller with Pollard, that's a small upgrade but probably not worth the 60 million price tag.

The Pacers get Pollard who will be just as good as Miller assuming he stays healthy.

The Spurs getting Turkgoglu and Mercer is not that earth shattering. It makes them deeper, but Mercer is not that much better than Jackson, and I have thought Turkglu is overrated for a long time. He doesn't play defense well and is not especially athletic. He can shoot a little though.

The Spurs gave up Danny Ferry for what they got in this deal, but I think that is okay.

I was worried the Spurs would be like the Mavs in their lack of signing a free agent, especially when "the other O'Neal" stayed with the Pacers. Signing Nesterovic isn't nearly the same, since I think David Robinson could still play better defense than him, but adding Mercer (and Turkoglu, to a lesser extent) will help. Robert Horry kinda makes up for losing Ferry.

The only thing now is can the Spurs keep the same successful chemistry they had last year with all the new faces on board????

Living near Sacramento, I've seen Turkoglu play many times. He may not be great on defense, but in those times when you need to have someone come in and score from anywhere on the court, he's your guy. He has been a crowd favorite and certain to be one there.
