"Would-be junior free safety Cooper Gerami will not return to the UL Ragin' Cajun football team next season, Class of 2012 signee C.J. Bates will not join the team as planned and fellow signee Dominick Bilich plans to greyshirt, a UL spokesman said Thursday.

The Cajuns also made one addition, signing Mandeville-Lakeshore High safety Al Damion Riles, to scholarship papers on Thursday.

The 5-foot-11, 215-pound Riles was a late academic qualifier who also threw for 775 yards at quarterback for Lakeshore last season.

He also had supposed interest from FIU and Tulane.

Gerami, a St. Thomas More High product, played two seasons for the Cajuns after transferring from Northwestern, where he redshirted as a freshman in 2009."
