Donnie Davies says nothing in his video that isn't mentioned/insinuated in everyone of these threads that pops up concerning homosexuality. Why is so offensive? Is it less offensive to just beat around the bush?

I know.

In my silliness, I think words like "courageous" should be saved to describe people who... really are courageous.

You know, military personnel who have excelled in battle conditions (no, just being a member of the military is not in itself courageous), people who have demostratred the ability to run toward danger while others are running away, you know, things like that.

It's not "courageous" to have sex, whether with a man or a woman. It's not "courageous" to proudly proclaim the sex of the person with who you are having sex. It is simply self absorbed look-at-me-ism.

It wouldn't have even been "courageous" if this guy (who no one had ever heard of before his "courageous" coming out) had come out while he was actually playing in the NFL.

I can't help but wonder why he didn't make that "courageous" decision...

Good points & I agree , but people have been killed for the simple fact that they are gay. Our society sucks and hasn't fully accepted this type of lifestyle. Im sure Davis will receive hate mail & maybe even death threats over this.

You're probably right, he will get hate mail, and that goes back to my point that there are those in any group who give those a bad name. I don't think I've ever seen anyone say that is right. But to sit there any say that all Christians "hate" "fags" is hurtful to me as a Christian.

Good gosh. Saying that people don't need to publically display ther sexuality is saying that god hates them because they are gay????

Again, straight out of the liberal playbook. If anyone disagrees with the liberal point of view, personalize it and demonize them. No one insinuated anything, other than to keep your gayness or your heterosexuality to yourself.

Wait, is gay a bad word yet?

Give it a couple of years. It will be.

You win again Captain Buzzword. Me and my liberal playbook... I could care less about you're stance that "people don't need to publically display ther sexuality." I get what you're saying and in many cases agree with you. The video was in response to a post insinuating that referring to what Mr. Davis had done as courageous was in some way an affront to the image of "the white, straight, Christian, male." As someone who considers themselves a Christian as well, that idea sickens me.

Really? That's the liberal playbook? Newt Gingrich was the one that invented that playbook, that has been the m.o. of republicans for years now (not all of them though). Now democrats have decided not to play nice and it's "ohhh poor pitiful me, these other guys are so mean".

You completely missed my point as it had nothing to do with why Davis came out. Check your PM.
