One area that should be a strength for UNT heading into next year is its special teams. UNT has talented players back in all the key positions — Will Atterberry at punter, Zach Olen at kicker and Brelan Chancellor as a return man.

Atterberry led the Sun Belt with an average of 43.5 yards a punt last season. He posted 16 punts of at least 50 yards and dropped 26 kicks inside opponents’ 20-yard line. UNT led the Sun Belt in net punting at 39.9 yards an attempt.

Olen made eight of his 16 field goal attempts, but three of his missed attempts were blocked. He hit two field goals of 50 yards or more.
