Teams will play eight-game league schedules once the conference expands from eight teams to 12 in 2013. The conference is expected to grow to 14 teams in 2015. That's when Navy joins for football only. Brigham Young or Air Force is expected to join Navy, according to multiple sources at the spring meetings.

Looks like any expansion would occur in the West.

If Air Force joins the Big East, MWC would certainly be interested in UTEP. If the BCS adopts a playoff structure that favors conference champions, large independents may be seeking a conference home. Notre Dame is another possibility. NBC has been disappointed with the TV ratings Notre Dame games and NBC has been actively courting the Big East.

No way ND ends up in the MWC. If they need a conference, they have the option to go wherever they choose. Why would they want the MWC?

Notre Dame is a possibility for the Big East. Since Notre Dame is already a non-football member. If NBC is seeking the television rights to thew Big East and has the television rights to Notre Dame through 2015.

Notre Dame has a geat TV deal... it would cost them money. BE looks pretty unstable.... doubt there is much interest to join now... by anyone. Air Force being more of a National team and really not a regional one might consider it ... but I sorta doubt it.

ND might not get such a sweet TV deal when their contract with NBC comes up for renewal.
