It's apparently true tthat they virtually have a sellout for every football game. Checked and their 2011 attendance was 19,784. Stadium capacity is 19,818. They had a 10-3 record. Basketball attendance for 2011-12 was 7,142. Record was 22-14. Very impressive.

I agree, I was hoping this would happen, if not for anything other than BBALL. Could there have been bigger schools who could have gotten the invite, sure, it appeases the eastern half of the conference. IMO I think this is a good thing.

tons of upside with this school and the area around it.... you will love your first visit to Hampton Roads. If we travel in force I will see about getting Naval Base tours lined up for the Alumni and an aircraft carrier visit.

Good to see a strong basketball add. I know many are "football only" people, but positioning ourselves with stronger programs in all sports can only help us. With our recent recruiting and the kids I think Benford will pull in there is no reason to fear strengthening our competition.

I hope this is true. Official announcement probably won't happen until after June 1.

That is my understanding from a ODU poster from another board. ODU reason for waiting till after June 1 is so that there first signing class which will be senior this fall will have the opportunity to play for the FCS title this fall. The poster felt that ODU owed this class that opportunity since they were willing to commit to a start up program instead of going some where else to play football.

My understanding is they sell out because they all able to sell all there tickets except for student and visitor tickets as season tickets. There football tickets are a hot item. With there move up I can see only donors being able to get tickets until they all more seats.

If they wait till after june 1,

2013 still FCS

2014 transition year CUSA schedule ( like USA in SunbBelt this year)

2015 Full CUSA full D1/FBS program

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Good question. I believe that if they are FCS in 2012 that must serve 2013-14 as a reclassifying school which would make them eligible in 2015, the same year as Charlotte.

Another question is when is UTSA eligible? I've read that they will be eligible in 2014 as they start their reclassifying this fall. Remember that they've yet to play a single FBS opponent. It looks as if there will only be eleven eligible the first year.
