Rob Evans will serve as UNT's associate head coach under Tony Benford. The school will announce the move today.

Evans was the head coach at Ole Miss and Arizona State and has been in coaching for 40 years.

If there was any concern about Benford being a first-time head coach, the addition of a veteran like Evans should address them.

Great news...this really really solidifies this staff. Congratulations to Coach Evans! One interesting note in Vito's blog, you might recall the name David Anwar as being mentioned in the Keith Coleman article I posted the other day. David Anwar was the guy who recruited Keith Coleman to Nebraska and has been recruiting him since junior high. I don't know if he is still at Nebraska or more likely got let go with Doc Sadler.
