UNT's Commitment to Growth and Success

In a short amount of time, UNT has a made great strides, which have drastically altered the face of the campus and, in my opinion, greatly improved the overall college experience. Since 1999- when I began- I think of the following:

Gateway Center Built

Mean Green Village built

New Student Rec Center

New Business Building

Greek Row expanded/Sorority housing built

New Dallas Campus & Law School (love it or hate it)

Two NCAA Tourney Appearances

Four Bowl Appearances

New Stadium

New Conference (twice)

I'm sure there are other things I'm missing... but that's a lot in just 13 years.

In Housing we've added Traditions, Victory, Legends and Honors Halls. Oh, and the Goolsby Chapel between Crumley and Maple.

I started at UNT in 1999, too. Don't forget Mozart Square.

Chem and Bio buildings redone. Environmental Science building was new when I started in 97.

Honors College and College of Engineering along with the Research campus have been big additions as well.

i kinda miss the white house where the gateway center is now. we used to prepare for games in the band right there and play some other random concerts there.

New career and helth and wellness center on Denton campus an the aquisition and expansion of the unthsc fort worth and law school in Dallas and creation of unt-dallas.

I mean, yeah all this stuff happened, but there's not nearly enough complaining in this post for me to take it seriously.

The Union as it looks now before UNT spends $100 million to do a re-do was just beginning its expansion to how it looks today my first semester which began in Janurary, 1972.

It is no secret that most of us older alums need a map of our alma maters campus to get around.

The student health center (Chestnut Hall) was built a few years ago.

Not to mention a new M.D. program and Pharmacy school at the UNTHSC-Ft. Worth.

The fountains in the Library Mall are now filled with water and the fountain works.
