SIGNED - 2012 HS - P.J. Hardwick - 5'10" PG

Recommended Posts

Someone give me the Cliffnotes on this kid, what value he brings to us (elaborate slightly above the "he's a 3-star duh" response), and if there are any further developments regarding possible transfers from our current roster.

Harry linked to a video that I can't take much from: the defender wiggles a bit on every possession then just lets PJ by?

This seemed to unfold very fast, no?

Switching teams in the summer can be dangerous. Wait too long to make a decision, and you may not get a home you want. Sometimes you end up at Oklahoma Wesleyan.

The guy had already done a recruiting tour and been courted by BCS schools. If he found what he was looking for here... No sense dragging it out.

15 ppg, 10 Assts. last season. From Miami, Fl (played in Ft. Lauderdale) before moving to to Houston. His goal was to lead the SEC in assist his freshman year. Also had a 25 pts 15 assist game while playing a game in New York or Atlanta. Seems to be a better player than the 6-9 Juco guy. (I'd pass on him, btw, from the video I saw and being a 6th man on his Juco team) Not sure I like 5-9/5-10 guards on the college level. Very tiny kid.

Maybe Tasty can get Benford on the GMG podcast to get an update on this kid and who he plans to run off. (Of course we need to tell Benford that JJ appeared weekly on the podcast)

If I remember correctly, tasty made sure that was in benfords contract before giving it to RV to present for Tony's signature. I think there's even a nice incentive fee for the gmg podcast.

I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the name "Jordan Williams" show up on that OWU roster... then I kept looking and saw you were referencing Nolan Denis.

Grades? How's this kid on the academic front? I always worry a tad when I see that they come from some "basketball academy school" thing. Anyone know the skinny on the academic side of the house? Looks like a great sign on the BB side of the house, but as we have seen with Jones and Williams...and, yes, TMitch...one must take care of both sides of the house to actually play.

Tell me the kid is a academic powerhouse as well......

Nice commit for the first one out of the box Coach!

Maybe this signing really just mean bad news for Trey Norris? Don't get me wrong, I like Trey. He puts in his work and has heart, just thinking of possibilities.

Am I high or did I read somewhere earlier that Trey was actually aiding Hardwick's recruitment?

Pretty sure that's what I heard as well. So hopefully this guy isn't designed to replace Norris on the roster, however assuming Jones is back, I could potentially see it causing his playing time to decrease.

Spread Option...

Is this a Net Debit Spread or a Net Credit... calls or puts... Because im pretty bullish on Benford

I would do a butterfly option strategy... Its a lotto ticket, he doesnt cost that much but the return could be insane if he hits the magic number in the middle

Oh wait, are we talking about Coach K spread...lol

Yes, I believe Vito said Norris was Hardwick's recruit visit host. That would be really strange.

I hope Trey, and not Forrest, is leaving, but that's just me.

It's a bit uncomfortable to think in those terms, but I agree...I think Trey maxes out as a 5pt, 5ast, 15-20 min a night guy...a wonderful luxury as your reserve point, but even if Forrest never realizes his full potential he's still got the whole 6'10" thing going for him.

Maybe Clarke (yes, I just assumed the white kid like all of you assumed Collin Mangrum was a good shooter) may be in on academic scholarship?
