Good grief the hatred of SMU that some of you have is stupid.

Do they have stereotypical students/alumni? YES!

Do alot of them look down on UNT? YES!

Do all of them? No.

Does HoopmanX look down on UNT and our basketball program? His comments on our team do not demonstrate this.

From everything I've ever read from him, he's at worst 67% good and 33% troll... if that.

Why would a guy who supports SMU come on GoMeanGreen.com, get INSTANTLY attacked just for being associated with SMU, and not defend himself? I think alot of you guys roast this guy not for things that he actually says, but how you perceive them.

He provides a breath of fresh air with all of these recruits because all we ever hear is how fantastic our recruits are from people who support the Mean Green. I like to hear the opinions of someone who is neutral, or even a little anti-Mean Green. Especially if they are as in-the-know as HoopmanX appears to be.

Most of this guy's posts look similar to the one he posted in this thread: Very complimentary of our players. All he said this time is that he doesn't think Hardwick is as good as Jones or Norris. I guess we'll see, but I appreciate the insight. I hope you others can see that.

He is a SMU fan, yes: he is slanted and more than a little bit condescending. However, I have never understood why so many on this board are against alternate views. A point is made, and the response is often to deride the poster instead of supporting an alternate view.

Obviously, Hoopman was very wrong about the direction that SMU BB was in last year. My impression is that he does have insides with a lot of basketball folks, but I wouldn't hire him as a talent scout.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree on HoopmanX. I waited to form an opinion of him/his posts and I found him to be more a of troll than you.

There are other SMU fans on here and a decent number of them are more well recieved than hoopmanX. This has nothing to do with SMU fans, it's that he rubs too many people the wrong way.

I used to, but I was banned from their site over a year ago for much less condecending behavior than Hoopmanx has exhibited on GMG.
