I've always heard that all the schools governed by the Texas State BOR were invited to change their names to Texas State-(city name) and most said "hell no."

Because no one would go to TSU-Huntsville! Seriously - someone who's son went to SHSU once told me he never said he's going up to Huntsville to visit his son - he always said he's going up to Sam Houston State. :excl:

Why would Sam Houston & SFA want to change their names?

SFA is independent. It's not attached to any university system in TX . I just read that after my first post.

Hey we can't lecture anyone about being competitive in our old conference these days!

Can we just stop posting threads about TSU?

At least we won 4 SBC titles in football, the conference tournament in basketball a couple of times and golf, tennis and soccer championships. Then again, that wasn't my point. They haven't played a down of FBS football and think they will be competitive since they are replacing the lower half of the Sun Belt and have yet to win an FBS game or even be competitive in the Southland.
