I went by the UNT tennis banquet tonight. Sujay Lama has built himself quite a little powerhouse over there.

UNT is ranked 40th in the country this week and should have a chance to win at least one match in the NCAA tournament.

Perhaps the best part of what was said was Lama talked about wanting to stay at the school and build something special.

Let's be honest here.

The guy has already reached that goal.

I also attended and agree....RV needs to reward both Coach Lama and Coach Maren for their success. Second Sunbelt Championship in 3 years, 3.5 team GPA, national ranking. GO MEAN GREEN at the regional NCAA tournament!

Not to take away from the accomplishment, because it is amazing, but just saying "national ranking"...what does that mean? Let's find the 118th ranked team in the nation; we can call them "nationally ranked", too.

Top 40 is outstanding. Now, on and upward to top 25.

team is ranked #57 as of last Tuesday, new rankings come out today and tournament pairings released Tuesday around 5:30.

Team may have been as high as #40 but fell after losses to AZ and Wichita State.

Tournament pairings will be interesting with so many Texas Teams ranked in the Top 75 (TCU MWC Champs #30, Rice #39, UT Big 12 Champs, A&M, Tech both Top 20, Baylor Top 15, SFA -- Southland Champ #47.
