The WAC has been close to extinction for a while now, but it appears that it is now officially grasping for one more breath of air with the latest round of realignment news and rumors.

Texas San Antonio, set to play their first WAC conference games in the fall, is already looking as though they will be moving to a new conference home in 2013. Rowdy Report made note of the upcoming Board of Regents meeting agenda for next week, which includes a late addition to vote to approve authorization to accept an invitation to Conference USA.

What's more, CBSSports.com reports that Conference USA is looking to add another WAC school to their conference; Louisiana Tech. Conference USA is also looking to add two schools from the Sun Belt Conference, North Texas and Florida International. After a merger deal with Conference USA and Mountain West Conference was put on hold, both conferences were in need of adding new members to fill vacancies created by members leaving for other conferences.
