NT NFL Draft Drought

After another year w/out a Mean Green draft pick, I started wondering when that drought could end...in looking at the roster as it is, w/out incoming freshmen, who have obviously never played a down of college ball, I don't think we have any players to break the drought.

That is not saying we don't have talented college players, because we do, but I don't see a NFL draft type of player if someone like Dunbar can't get the call.

The strongest candidate I see may be Orr, but he is undersized at only 6'0" tall by NFL standards.

What do you guys think?

If Ivan Delgado has a big year, which is certainly a possibility, he has a very outside chance of getting drafted. He's got good size at 6'2" 210. He's got 4.45-4.5 speed. He's got a 40 inch vertical. He's ridiculously smooth. And he catches absolutely everything. The only thing going against him is that he's been at 3 different schools, so he hasn't gotten to settle in and make a huge impact. But if he puts up great numbers this year, he'll be on some radars. I'm not saying he'll get drafted, but out of the guys coming out next year, he has the best chance by far.

Let's be honest the draft is political like anything else as well. We have to get someone to get the ball rolling then we will get back in the mix. Look at Case Keenum...didn't even get drafted. When I see a guy like Alfred Morris get drafted and Dunbar or Rainey don't it puzzles me. But then again a lot of guys make an impact who are Undrafted.

      Another of many indications that NIL is broken

      I'll expand your question a little bit to ask, "what recourse might the MWC have because of this poaching?" Regarding a claim against the Pac-12, the first answer that comes to mind is not breach of contract, because the MWC and Pac-12 aren't in any type of agreement where a prohibition on poaching a team makes sense (unless they built that into their agreement to play football this year). But, tortious interference with a contract might apply. Essentially a party like the MWC in this scenario would have a claim against the Pac-12 because the Pac-12 interfered with MWC's agreement with Boise St., for example. There would be loads of questions about how damages can be calculated, but that's for actual lawyers and accountants on the case to decide. Another recourse for the MWC might be breach of contract against Boise St. But I have a very good feeling that in lieu of making a claim like that available to the MWC if Boise St. leaves, the MWC requires the substantial buy-out amount. Last couple notes on the tortious interference claim: MWC would never go after the Pac for that because it would open the flood gates to every other conference suing another conference each time a school moves. The MWC wouldn't want to sue the Pac to get some sort of damages for Boise St. leaving, and then turn around only to see C-USA to get the bright idea that it can sue the MWC for poaching TCU from many years ago (that's the latest example I could think of). Also, very likely that the NCAA, which charters the conferences and governs their administration quite a bit, has prohibitions on retaliatory litigation in the case of a school leaving. tl;dr: No, MWC probably wouldn't have any claims for many reasons.

      Chicago does not give a damn about NIU. They have a good program but they struggle to draw fans because DeKalb is pretty out there. They beat Notre Dame then couldn't even crack 20k the next week at home

      If our DB's can't provide man coverage for their one or two WR's allowing us to stack the line, then our DB's are a lot worse than I thought they were. Texada and Nelson should shut them down.

      Memphis, USF, UTSA, and Tulane all reject PAC-6, will remain in the AAC

      I don't think he's wrong at all... right now the only thing that the PAC has to offer is deflated name recognition and a swiftly dwindling treasure chest... they don't have any media rights guarantees and I bet whatever they are promising won't even be fulfilled. I applaud this guy.
