CUSA Texas Cup?

Would be kind of cool to have a CUSA Texas Cup trophy in football and basketball awarded to the team with the best record among the Texas contingent of CUSA which - according to reports - will be four teams strong (RICE, UTEP, North Texas and UTSA). Obviously this could also be applied to other sports that the schools in Texas participate in. Would definitely make the games more interesting!

Initially award the cup to Rice as the oldest incumbent. Then let them defend it any time they play one of the other three Texas teams. Should someone beat Rice, they get the cup to defend. The cup could ultimately change hands more than once a year and potentially make otherwise meaningless late season games more interesting.

I like the idea for football. Make it a flag, and call it the "Come and Take It!" Trophy. If you win it, your team runs to the flagpole, takes it down, and carries it to your sideline. The thing could change hands several times in a season.

Most trophies are awarded after a specific game or for a season long achievement - for example, the Commander in Chief trophy for the academy that has the best record against the other academies. If this trophy is on the line each time one of these teams meets then it would be a very unique trophy. It could change hands a four times a year. I think it could quickly become a really popular trophy with the fans and media.
