Smith can really play. He was helpful this year after coming off ACL surgery. No one really understands that cut. Vilde was a shell of the player at SMU, as he was in the NE Prep league. Win some, lose some.

Just after releasing them from the team Steve Orsini notified them they'd be on the "Larry Brown Scholarship." When they asked what that was they were told "for the next several years SMU will pay for you to be here...but you won't really do anything to help us win games."

Is this kind of "brown shirting?" I have heard of this practice in football (especially LSU) where they will cut a senior to free up a scholorship for a freshman.

Sure is cool. Keeps the students for whom the scholarships were actually designed and who would actually earn them by their academic achievements from using them.
