Friday Afternoon UNT BBall Coaching Update

I spoke briefly with Stephen F. Austin coach Danny Kaspar this afternoon about his involvement with UNT's search for a new coach.

Kaspar said he has not been contacted by UNT officials in an official capacity.

Several alums of the school have called to talk to him about the position. And who can blame them? Kaspar has done a terrific job at the school and he is a UNT graduate.

I think we learned that RV has better contacts than what we can come up with.

Remember 2 weeks ago when everyone was on the Matt Daniel bandwaggon to be the next ladies coach? Yeah, I like our actual hire a little better.

If Kaspar has not been contacted, he probably wont be. I'd rather have Fraschilla, and I think Fran is to UNT what Johnny was to LSU: The guy we know we can get, but lets kick the tires on some of these other guys... like say, a Duke Asst. coach with recruiting inroads in DFW?

Vito writing a blog post is the equivalent of posting on a message board like this one. Lots of people post stuff. This information is tons better than other people posting about out of context twitter updates.
