I don't think there is anything wrong with "taking time" to find the right guy.

10 days, by the way, doesn't seem like an eternity (ask SMU).

The future of the program won't be won or lost over the next 10 days.

Find the right guy...period.

It took SMU so long to find a coach because no one wanted their millions of dollars to ruin their coaching career. Larry Brown gets to show up for a couple years, put in no effort and he can finance the rest of his life at "The Villages - Florida's Friendliest Hometown".

Harry, since this is going to take a while longer, perhaps you will want to make an interim modification to the Basketball forum description, and then again once we have a new coach.

Yes, I remember it as a Drake head coach said after we beat his good team that coming to Denton and playing North Texas was like playing in a "snake pit" I think some students after that started throwing rubber snakes on the floor during games to intimidate opponents, lol.       Power Conferences making their move to take full control

      If that was the case, it would be the Big 10 and SEC are trying to take management of the postseason. Also the Big 12 media contract is worth almost $3 billion. Can that change in the future? Sure but as of now, there are 4 Power Conferences. If there wasn't a difference between the Big 12, ACC and AAC, Memphis, USF, Tulane and Rice wouldn't be so desperate to leave.

      Should we add Texas State to the AAC?

      Agree, I see them topping out at maybe $10M per team, and wouldn't be surprised to see $7m-8m. I don't think the extra travel is worth it at that point for Memphis and Tulane.
