Forrest should be the only assistant on the list.if not Forrest, needs to be:

A winning coach who has proven recruiting ties in Texas high school and AAU programs.

Someone who runs a motion offense (my personal preference)

Number 1 priority in new coach: can convince Tony to stay. If he stays, they all stay.

I hear what you are saying, but assuming you mean CJ and Jordan, you think after sitting out half a year already, they will sit out another entire season by transferring? Seems unlikely, but I guess possible.

Interesting. Would they have to sit out a whole year? Or just until December since they were ineligible for the spring semester?

Depends on if they went to another D1 school. Juco can play immediately.

Lets not even think about this. They need to enjoy playing with one another and do great things. All the national pub of last week and being top 25 has got to mean something...

This team can be great.

Fran Dunphy, Temple - 444-228, 11 regular season championships

Steve Prohm, Murray State - 31-2

Randy Bennett, St. Mary's - 235-117, went to Sweet 16 and NIT 2nd round

Dan Monson, Long Beach State - 255-200, went to 2nd round of NCAA last month, took Gonzaga to Elite 8 in 1999, and a few NIT advances

Those are excellent coaches, although I'd only think of Prohm as being somewhat likely to come here. I think the most interesting thing about that list is that 3 of the 5 had not been head coaches before holding their present jobs (Mack, Prohm, and Bennett were only assistants).

      Great ESPN Story On Drew Mestemaker

      So here’s the other side of the “no loyalty in this era” coin. Here’s a kid that has been waiting since 9th grade. Put the work in. Made it to QB2. Never got a shot to play during the season even though our starter was obviously injured. Now he gets his shot and proves himself x 1000 But what does he get to see? Watches his head coach go out and get the sexy new toy to come in here from Miami. Is he going to get a shot to compete for the job? How much $$ is the new kid getting to come here? Were promises made? The HC didn’t show the QB he had any loyalty. He looked for a bigger better deal. And that’s just “a business decision” So It goes both ways. **and before you say it, I know he got the Miami kid before the bowl but he’s seen him every week all season. Even said he could see him playing for a long time.

      Great ESPN Story On Drew Mestemaker

      In today’s world, we don’t have a 3rd year program/coach. We had 77 new players this year. We’ll have a lot of new players next year at key positions. Instead of a 3rd year coach, we’ll have our 3rd, 1st year coach. It’s going to be that way every year. If he comes back next year, we will have our 4th, 1st year coach. How could it be otherwise with such turnover on our roster every year. I’m not being negative about it. But it’s a fact. Hopefully he brings in the right combination next year and they’re a lot better than the combination we had this year.

      Attendance question

      lol I remember a couple of years ago at the Frisco Bowl against Boise State. UNT fans were getting mad at me and my friends for standing up during big plays, cheering too loud and some of the UNT fans wouldn’t even high five us. Instead, those fans were just sitting there with their blankets looking like they were watching an episode of the Young and Restless. I love my alma mater but the UNT culture needs a big kick in a$$. North Dakota State plays Montana State tomorrow for the FCS championship in Frisco and I wish we had the fraction of both those fan bases.
