Lester Earl, the guy who accused Brown and JJ of impropriety, recanted everything and said the NCAA pressured him into making the accusations by threatening his ability to play elsewhere.

Tic Price was fired at Memphis for banging a female student, not for any recruiting violations or illegal benefits to scholarship basketball athletes.

So, you either believe the conspiracy theory that says Dale Brown was paying players or you believe that the NCAA was out to get him for his (many) public rantings against them. There's really just no good public face to that whole mess. Unless you're one of the individuals involved, or know them personally, there will always be doubt for those in the general public. I can see why many LSU alums would be apprehensive about bringing that entire period of their history back to light.

I don't mean to drag this out, was really just making the observation that these big time jobs bring a lot of baggage that you probably don't get at a program the size of UNT's. Your every move is going to be publicly analyzed and in this new age of media coverage, it's hard to separate fact from fiction. Obviously JJ knows what he's getting into with LSU...
