Noticed this AM that Houston B. has hired the Kansas St. DC as their new football coach. The team will start play in the Southland Conference in 2014. In 2013 they will play as an independent.

And they plan to build a 10,000 seat on-campus stadium, but not right away. Not sure where they have enough land, unless they own the property at the corner of SW Freeway & Fondren where there's a shopping center that would be ripe for being torn down.

Given that they play basketball in a gym that probably seats less than 1000, that's ambitious. But at least they don't think they belong in the Alliance.

They better hand out bullet proof vests to sit outside in that part of Houston.

They could ask TXDOT to build those sound barrier walls around the stadium. That would stop the bullets.

They hired the Ex-KU DC (not KSU). Vic Sheely was the DC of one of the worst defenses in history of college football this past year. Now he was put in tough spot when regular DC took leave right before season started.

HBU has made a nice move in a few years. They went from the wasteland of the Great West conference to the Southland. Now that's where I hope they stay because I have nightmares of them being pushed into a better conference because of their market.

I've lived in Houston for twenty years and just now realized that there was an HBU. I saw a sticker and me and my girlfriend (also a Houston native) sat there going "What's HBU!?" We looked up it and were like..."oh."
