You have to give them credit. They are aggressive, seemingly always on the offense. Like old DeepGreen likes to say, "The speed of the Captain, the speed of the crew". And UTSA's AD is aggressive.

I dunno Deep, this move seems to be pure idiocy. They have about as much chance as I have becoming a millionaire. They haven't played a single FBS opponent yet and they don't have a winning record. Their revenue last year was about $5 million less than Texas State. They claim to have had 35,000 plus attendance and Texas State had only 15K. Banowsky tried to tell them that they're not ready yet but they think that they're God's gift. I hate pushy people and it won't hurt my feelings if they get ignored by both the Alliance and the Sun Belt.

Yes, I know that being pushy worked for SMU but they had a helluva lot more history working for them than UTSA.

Remember the strategy for schools in the Belt is different than for those in (or soon to be) the WAC.

The WAC is on life support; the Sun Belt is not. All of the schools in the WAC including La. Tech have been pretty open about the fact that they want out. UTSA is just following suit and including both the Alliance and Sun Belt as possibilities... I don't see this as a slight for the Belt as much as UTSA trying to best position themselves.
