HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — North Texas is looking for a second home for its basketball programs.

UNT athletic director Rick Villarreal said in the hours leading up to the Mean Green’s 74-70 loss to Western Kentucky in the Sun Belt Conference tournament final at Summit Arena that the school would like to add a basketball practice facility.

“It’s definitely a priority for us,” Villarreal said. “It’s not like we have a terrible situation, but we want to take that next step and this is a part of that process.”

UNT plays at the UNT Coliseum, also known as the Super Pit. The facility is owned by the university, which is host to numerous events at the venue, often requiring the removal of the basketball court.

Spell check Harry! I thought you meant "UNT seals new practice facility"

I guess I am a little lost on this. The story started off like UNT wanted a better practice facility in Hot Springs when they go to the tournament, then started to go towards a new practice facility in Denton or on campus.

Till a new facility is built, maybe the old Men's Gym (the original Pit) will work.

The Men's Gym is used for other things as well so they have to schedule around the availability of all the courts across campus (Super Pit, Men's Gym, PEB, Rec Center). That is why they want their own facility.
