Orthodox Jewish team refuses to play on Sabbath

Recommended Posts

A couple of points here...

1) Good for them for sticking with their beliefs...

2) They knew the drill coming into the UIL...no surprise here

3) The UIL knew the situation as well....long before they set the schedule

4) What would have been so hard in scheduling this team to play earlier in the day? No, not to change the schedule after it's set, but to at least try BEFORE they set the schedule?

Anyway...again it seems that it really isn't "all about the students". Too bad....both sides knew the drill...seems like someone scheduled the game to "make a point"...just sayin.....

TAPS, not UIL.

And since TAPS is made up of many religious (and non religious) private schools, they would have to start making special exceptions for many of the schools if they made an exception for one.

Everyone knew the deal coming into this thing. It's honorable for the school not to play on the sabboth, and it's right for TAPS not to make an exception.
