Im interested to see how ULL travels to Hot Springs, I dont believe I saw many fans in the past couple of years but MTSU brings everyone. Unt played one of its poorest games at home against ULL. I dont see us playing that bad ever again, we only lost by 4 while shooting 29% and 45% from the line

There is a reason we shot 29% from the field, and the reason was LaLa's defense. I don't want to see this team again. I think winning twice over the same team in the same years makes the 3rd game easier. Should give you the mental edge of knowing you are the better team. It would be interesting to see some numbers on this.

I generally think teams lose the third time after winning the first two.

Interesting cause it will apply no matter if we play Denver or LaLa in the 1st round.

I tried searching, but it seems kinda tough to find (or I couldn't come up wirth the right terms to search on google with). I just know from my memories in the Belt, that we've had a few occassions where this happened, and only once did the team (us) that won the first two, win the 3rd (against ASU in 2009 I believe?).

Obviously if one team is considerably better the third game shouldn't make much difference, but when teams are very close then I would argue the third game would be at best a split with the 0-2 team having the edge based just on probability.

Yes we could vey well shoot 30% from the field once again because of ULL's defense but I don't see us going 11-24 from the line again (witch was the biggest reason we lost, not our FG%)

      Yep. The system can’t have it both ways. Either pay the kids a salary and let them pay for their schooling or stick with the scholarship system. Having hardworking students pay an “athletics fee” to support these programs while these athletes are getting a salary on top of all the benefits of their scholarship is system set up to fail.

      Because it is a bullshit system. I don’t need some kid running a podcast that gives him the attitude that he is all knowing to tell me that his opinion on the system is better than mine. It is what it is. I don’t like it. I see kids chasing dollars hoping to secure their future and probably forgoing their education. Do you really think Chandler Morris is worth the reported $1 million dollars Okie St is throwing at him? Do you think Ohio State’s $200 million payroll provided a solid return? It is not a sustainable system and is not being administered as intended. These collectives are paying kids a salary to just be on the team. It has nothing to do with marketing their likeness, their name or their image. It has turned our program into nothing more than a prep program for the P4 teams. We, UNT, spend time and money developing kids for what? For them to move along to the highest bidder and we get $0 in return. It is not a sustainable system. Why do “G5” donors want to throw money at these kids that have zero loyalty to us? What is the return? Hopefully 9 or 10 wins, a conference title and some BS bowl game only to watch our best players walk prior to the bowl game/playoffs? Sorry but the dialogue and “talking points” haven’t changed. It is nothing more than a game of greed. This is college sports with misplaced priorities that are ruining the game, in my humble opinion. That satisfy you?

      If it helps any, this is where our group has been tailgating for years whenever we played SMU. Never had one problem with setting up the BBQ grill, TV, etc.
