Yes we lack the experience with this group secondary but it was the athleticism that burned us in the Houston, Tulsa, Louisiana and Arkansas State games.

I think last years secondary missed to many assignments, we had good athletes in my opinion. We probably gave up 10-12 TD passes where we weren't within 15 yards of the receiver. I blame that more on mental errors than athleticism.

So, a DC in Skaldany from UCF who had the 9th best defense in the country last year, throw in a young and extinguished secondary coach to motivate a secondary and get after the young guys like Bowen did .

With Coach Mac at the helm, this could be a recipe for Grrrrrreat Success!

I'm pretty sure he has to be replacing somebody, since the NCAA only allows a team so many coaches on staff (forget how many), and we've been at full allotment.

NCAA Article 11: Conduct and Employment of Athletics Personnel:

11.7.2 Football Bowl Subdivision - There shall be a limit of one head coach, nine assistant coaches and two graduate assistant coaches who may be employed by an institution in bowl subdivision football.

I assume coordinators fall under ast?
