North Texas head coach Dan McCarney was admitted to the hospital over the weekend and has undergone a series of tests, a school spokesman said Monday afternoon.

The spokesman and other UNT sources did not provide any additional information on McCarney’s condition.

McCarney, 57, just completed his first season at UNT.

The former Iowa State head coach began his college coaching career at Iowa in 1977. He came to UNT from Florida, where he was Urban Meyer’s assistant head coach.
