Like it or not Hawaii and Temple will be football only members ... Still like the idea of FlU for ftbl recruiting

A release is scheduled maybe today or tomorrow on non-binding good faith agreements, but stay tuned for leaks

Keep in mind I think this guy follows Marshall and they recruit Florida pretty hard so that would explain why he is interested in FIU.

No way CUSA MWC should let Temple call the shots. All in or not at all. Temple w/o basketball is no better than UNT

@laxtonto UTEP going West causes problems for East. Tulsa's on an island w/ no SMU, Memphis. CUSA needs 2. Think one is UNT

Could CUSA/MWC merger hit wall w/some schools not buying into 16 team league for fear TV$ is not there? And there are travel costs concerns

Temple is located in Philly and so is the HQ of Comcast. THAT makes the mwc/cusa merger more interesting. Word is that TU has a strong in.

For those following here is the current breakdown of Football Teams involved in the merger:

MOUNTAIN (8)

UNLV

CSU

Hawaii (FB only)

Wyoming

Fresno State

Nevada

Air Force

New Mexico

CUSA (8)

Southern Miss

ECU

Marshall

UTEP

Rice

Tulsa

Tulane

UAB

If you move UTEP over to the west that gets them to 9 and you could add Temple (FB only) to the east and one other school to get to 9 on both sides making 18. If Temple isn't added you would need two in the east to get whole (9 on both sides).

my take on this merger[i have been more wrong than right so far] is that UTEP moves west to old MWC,Temple old CUSA joins for football only, and FIU for all sports. that gets them to 18. where they go from there is anyone's guess.

FIU's facilities are TERRIBLE.

If this happens, there better be a damn good explanation from our leaders. we should be upset with our leaders.

There is no good explanation.
