Among those who arrived Friday and will be touring the campus today and Sunday are Florida prospects Paxton Lynch, Vegas Harley and Cameron Smith. Also making the trip are Texas quarterbacks Eric Mathews, a highly regarded prospect from Blinn Community College, and Je'Rod Evans, a dual-threat prospect from Mansfield (Texas) High.

National signing day is Wednesday.

Lynch, a 6-6, 225-pound quarterback from Trinity Christian Academy in Deltona, Fla., had attracted interest from Florida and South Florida but said Friday he will choose Indiana or Memphis. Before his senior season began, he also had Syracuse, Temple and Central Florida calling.

Lynch injured a knee during a preseason game and missed a portion of the year. After he returned, he played only enough to complete 22 of 52 passes for 415 yards and three touchdowns.

Some schools backed away, but Lynch re-ignited his recruitment with an impressive performance in the postseason. In the Central Florida All-Star Game in mid-December, Lynch passed for 237 yards and two touchdowns to lead the East to a 48-38 victory. He earned the game's Most Valuable Player award.

''That game got schools looking back at me,'' Lynch said. ''After that game I knew I didn't have to worry about getting my name out there. I had coaches calling me again.

''I went into the game trying to have fun and ending up getting to start. I felt I had to show out some.''

It's been a busy final week of recruiting for Lynch. He had an in-home visit early in the week from Florida offensive coordinator Brent Pease. New Memphis offensive coordinator Darrell Dickey, the former North Texas head coach, dropped in Wednesday.

''Coach Dickey came by to talk to me,'' Lynch said. ''I really liked him.''
