The Mean Green defense has improved by 16.5 points, the most in the nation

Tied with Cal State Northridge in leading the nation in best turnaround.

Also,

Godbolt needs 20 points this saturday to hit the 1,000 point mark to become only the 13th player to do so.

Way to go Mean Green! :goodjob:

Rick

Yes, Quite the turn around. I assume it's a combination of these 2, but I wonder how good Aston is or how bad Shanice Stephens is/was.

Were you watching games when Aston was an assistant at UNT?

Also, Godbolt will be the 13th Mean Green player, NCAA player, or conference player to do so?

The National turnaround figures speak for themselves - Aston is one of the Best B-Ball coaches we have ever had.

Godbolt is 13th Mean Green Player to hit that mark.

Great post Rick.

This is clearly great news. Coach Aston has done a terrific job this season with many of the same player Coach Stephens had last season. It's obvious that the Mean green have one of the best coaches in coach Aston that have ever led the Mean Green...and I am not just talking about women's BB here.

By hiring Coach Aston and Coach Mac, UNT has definitely seen an upgrade in the last two years to two of its major sports. When one takes a look, if they will take that look, UNT has the best HC staff overall that I believe it has ever had as a group. I am not knocking other great Coaches UNT has had, just mentioning that I believe that, as a group of HC's, it is the best "group" I have even seen in my 45+ years of following the Mean Green!

Every single interview that I've heard with Aston leads me to believe that Aston is just that good. I'm always pleased with her up front "tell it like it is" style, and not beating around the bush during the post game interviews.

Stephens is coaching an elementary school in North Carolina...they claim to bring 45 feet of heat.
