The West Orange-Stark football team hasn’t had a player commit to a school since Justin Thomas verbally committed to Utah in August.

Head coach Cornel Thompson said that’s likely to change in the next few weeks, as interest is high among several of his senior players.

Cornerback Da’Carlos Renfro, a second-team Class 3A all-state selection, has a visit to Washington State next weekend. Renfro also has interest from UTEP and UTSA, according to Thompson.

“I think he’ll probably go to Washington State but UTSA also has the inside track on him because it’s close to home,” Thompson said.

UTSA is moving up to the Division I FBS level this season.
