As 2012 has arrived I just wanted to breakdown some stats on the board's usage and some interesting tidbits.

611,411 is the number of visits the site had in 2011 with 33,545 visits coming via Mobile Devices

169,743 visits came from Google (meaning they had searched through Google rather than typing into the URL bar www.GoMeanGreen.com)

21,922 visits came from Yahoo

13,285 visits came from Bing

08:55 is the average time that someone spent on the site during a visit

114,517 visits came from 1st time visitors (or at least new computers of existing GoMeanGreeners)

10,088 visits came from Twitter links to our site. Another 1,800 visits came from Mobile Twitter

5,267 visits came from links off of Facebook

1,868 came from bobcatfans.com

1,658 came from meangreenblog.dentonrc.com

50.33% of you are still using Internet Explorer

21.51% are using Mozilla Firefox

14.63% are using Safari (Apple users)

12.17% my personal favorite of Chrome users visiting the site

Interesting keywords that brought in new visitors (based on at least 60% of the visitors being new to the site)

Most people had typed in Go Mean Green forum or something of that nature and they would represent existing GoMeanGreeners or someone who had heard the name of the forum somewhere.

- "channelsurfing.net new site" brought in 2,695 visitors with 96% of them being new visitors

- "unt sex tape" brought in 1,109 visitors of which 15% were new

- "apogee stadium" brought in 1,271 visitors of which 13% had never been here

- "chuys denton" brought in 440 visitors of which 18% hadn't seen the site before

Going International

1,706 visits were from Canada

941 were from Honduras

793 from Old Mexico

513 were from the UK

413 were from France

and so on... from a total of 144 countries

I just felt the need to share these stats with you guys who might be curious. Just remember that when you are naming threads.... you can greatly increase the traffic to the site.

ex. "Hey Another New Recruit We Should Look At" should be replaced with "John Doe, LB Shady Pines High School" so that when others are googling the kids name (including the kid) they can see our site towards the top of the results. This allows us to showoff our fanbase as not being of 10 collective diehards but and actual largely active fanboard comparable with many other programs of perceived higher stature.

Thanks!

This is very true. And, when looking for updates on high school basketball recruits... Annoying.
