Just tweeted that he had a great practice and it felt great to be back on the court with his teammates.

This means he's ready to go I assume?

Rick

I don't think so. He probably didn't practice over the Christmas break, so he is just happy to be back. That would be my guess.

Or that he didn't travel for the road trip, and hasn't seen/practiced with them for almost a week.

Btw, just learning to read twitter, don't know how to pin with an iPhone yet but Coach Forrest just put out an apology a few moments ago.

Rick

Thanks for the heads up, Rick.

Side note: Learning to "read" Twitter is like learning to read toilet stall graffiti. Just skim it when you're bored, and hope you see something that makes you laugh before you see too many things that make you weep for humanity.

I am a jerk, but I could care less if Patton practices with the team, he could have been used this year for sure but he did not do his job in the class room. Now will he be here next year?? Who knows if he can actually get his %&*# together in the classroom, otherwise he is a wasted scholarship.

I thought I heard it was in regards to his previous transcripts.

You don't exactly have all the facts right.

I still believe it's possible all of Patton's prior course work didn't transfer from previous JUCO, and even Grambling. Maybe those classes boosted Patton's GPA above needed qualifying standards. If classes didn't transfer to UNT properly or had to be reviewed, and ultimately not allowed. That may have caused Patton's issues. Some of us have these issues and aren't always A students. It doesn't mean Patton's not smart. Same can be said for JJ for recruiting Patton. If Patton's course work at UNT was substandard do you really believe JJ would let him practice with the team?

JJ has had other players that had grade and off court issues and if they were serous issues JJ either wouldn't let them play with the team or flat out kick them off the team. Patton must be doing something correctly or I'm sure JJ would have kicked him to the curb and off the team already.

Then please inform everyone on what Academically Ineligible means, this coming from the UNT Compliance Office. It means he had below a 1.8 or 2.0 Cumulative GPA or he did not have enough hrs to meet Sr Standing (which is 96 hrs, actually 72, believe NCAA only requires 24 hrs a year to be considered forward progress) So unless Patton only took 12 hrs a semester with no summer school, then this does fall on him and class work.

If he does not step on the court this year then it was a complete waste if a scholarship when the team has obvious needs.

Unless it's an issue with his previous transcripts before he came here.

What you did was look up what it means when someone is arrested for murder and then tried to explain that everyone arrested is a murderer.

If it is that and we don't have all of those facts (and it appears no one had the facts until right before the season, which would explain the timing of his eligibility), then you are basically yelling at JJ for not knowing what anyone knew. I wish he was playing, but I wouldn't particularly enjoy having MTSU's record for now and finding out none of it will count later because of whatever happened at Grambling.

Also, he came on board RIGHT before school started. If he hadn't taken that scholarship, it would have been empty.

Could have been a huge piece of the puzzle this season. Even though he wasn't, he could play next year, and we've had him in practice this season.

We didn't lose anything. We didn't get everything we were hoping for, but practice Patton is better than nothing. Which is what we'd have gotten out of that scholarship if it were left empty.
