Best night (as far as doing everything) I can ever remember someone having was Jessee Ratliff in the Southland Conference tournament in the early to mid 90's. I think I was in High school, listening on my old alarm clock radio. He just couldn't be stopped. I swear he went for something like 29 points and 20 boards in...like the semifinals?

I know it probably wasn't that many, but it seemed like it.

Every night 1 player will get 16 boards in college basketball, its not uncommon.. but going 20-20 from the line is unheard of

Going for 34 AND 16 boards (or more) happens probably less than 5 times a season. Usually great rebounders aren't scorers and vice versa. It's the combo that is impressive.

Thats actually good, I just think everyone is sucking his dick.. Dont get me wrong Im glad hes here and he had a great game but enough of him and lets talk about the team... I would like to see if Butler fans where more whipped over HaywARd* than Unt fans are over Tony

You may be a tad young, but that does not excuse the foul language on a public board. You could have made your point in a so much more professional way....

I don't understand the point of this initial post, but these kind of threads show up on the Baylor and Texas boards too.

Is everyone supposed to be talking about how great everyone else is? That tonys effort wasn't all that great?

Enlighten us to the appropriate response to last nights game...

34 points is great and all but HE MISSED SEVERAL OF HIS FREE THROWS!!! If you can't even hit your free throws then you're just not a great basketball player. Sorry, it's true. Karen Aston would have made sure he practiced from the charity stripe. When will JJ learn that "hip hop" basketball isn't gonna cut it?? I'm transfere tired of listening to our games and hearing that we can't even handle the fundamentals!!!

Its amazing how people go crazy over Tony performance tonight... Dont get me wrong, it was great but how are yall in awww of one performance, Chris Jones has been over looked by all of yall all season( and his whole bball career) ... Hes been the guy on the stat sheet all year and almost put up 2 triple doubles in 2 straight games. I havent seen one thread about it... This is not a one man team, this is 14 players getting in the groove...

Tony doesnt make the team, its 14 players that make a team, He's great for the program but dont underlook the players that make him better

Well maybe because it was kind of a big deal. According to Mean Green Sports on Facebook it was the 3rd best scoring/rebounding game in school history and the best combined scoring/rebounding game in college basketball this year.

For Dr. Seuss:

I do not like this thread, not one little bit

In fact, I wish I could just make it q-u-i-t

But, since I cannot do that in any way

I would like to celebrate Tony Mitchell's unbelievable day

I do so like Tony Mitchell

but I also like Chris Jones, I do tell

So please don't start any more dumb threads

Because it makes all of our brains hurt in our heads

Guys, guys, guys...Let's settle down here. I have a feeling Green P1's gonna get pissed about this.

No worries. I popped a quad bar after I read what CBS Eye on Basketball said about us. As long as this thread is at the bottom of the page by tomorrow I'll be fine.

For the record, I think pretty much everyone on this team has someone singing their praises every time they manage to do something beyond tie their shoes correctly. Even poor Brandan Walton has Skiver trumpeting him.

For the record, I think Chris has gotten more love than Tony, and rightfully so, for his game performances so far.

For the record, I still heart Dr. Seuss. Ease up on the dogpile... The guy just wants America to love Chris Jones.

That's Chris (MOTHER F-ING) Jones to you. At least that's how he is known in the Army household. We say the middle part in hushed tones to avoid offending anyone near us, but we usually have good reason to say it several times a game. Kind of funny coming from AoM.

Circumvent my word filter? I'LL SHOW HIM!!!!
