Still a complete embarrassment for the conference. Both coaches didn't say anything. The Refs didn't know what was going on until after the horn and when they found out they didn't give a damn. I'm more pissed than WKU fans because they've been kicked in the balls so much they stopped paying attention a long time ago, or just chalk it up as another kick in the balls.

I know it's hard to make calls in real time, but you have to get the easy stuff right. Or at least correct it to make it right.

It's like watching my nephew's tee-ball game where they don't keep score, tap their watches after Playing60 and pat each kid on the head and tell them they tried real hard.

That's pathetic and a complete joke.

in the early 80's my son and i were visiting Mizzo, and attended the 5th down game against Colorado, who were ranked #1 at that time. UC got an extra play that allowed them to score a t.d.on the 5th down which was the game winner. the error occurred simply because the ref on field responsible for flip chart didn't turn down sign over after 2nd down. it was missed by both coaching staffs as well as radio announcer, but not by the fans. Mizzo afterwards asked UC to do the honorable thing and forfit the game. UC responded that the state of Missouri review its "the show me state"motto, and finished the season ranked #1 in nation.i doubt the Belt can do anything but chalk up the ULL/WK game as "pilot error."

That's just embarrassing for the refs to have missed that. Could they have called a do-over and gone back to the throw in and put the same about of time on the clock if they wanted to?

Are these the same awful refs we had for the UALR game?

No

According to the stats here the refs for that game were Sam Croft, Charles Robinson, and Winston Stith.

It's funny how the more and more I follow NT and Sun Belt basketball you start to learn who the refs are and which ones you dislike and which ones you like.

There are refs you like?

The Ragin Cajuns had six players on the court in the final moment's of tonight's 72-70 OT win in Bowling Green and the refs said play on.

Here's a link with a video: http://deadspin.com/5873578/the-ragin-cajuns-used-the-rare-basketball-power-play-to-beat-western-kentucky-on-this-buzzer+beater

It was against West Kentucky.... not Bowling Green .... the oddity of it all is that WKU fired the coach after that loss. he was cheated.

I don't know why everyone is so shocked that this happened in the Sun Belt.

When your commissioner establishes that people who preside over basketball in this league don't need to know how to count to 1, how can you expect your referees to count all the way to 6?

From Fran Fraschilla's twitter:

Regarding six men on court WKU loss, Sun Belt commissioner says "probably happens more than we realize".

Bad enough that it happened, but stupid comment to make. I really wish somebody in Sun Belt office cared about basketball.

No, but 1 of them refereed the New Orleans game at the Super Pit this year according to statsheet.com.

  1. Reinaldo Acosta - Has only worked Sun Belt games this season.
  2. Brad Gaston - Has worked some Sun Belt games this season but commonly calls games for Horizon and Missouri Valley.
  3. Roger Ayers - Has worked a ton of games this season but commonly calls games in the Big East and ACC.
