Root, root, root for WKU against Troy.

McDonald may be fired before our game if he loses that one. I'd rather play his team, beaten down and going through the motions, than Ray Harper's team, revitalized and with something to prove.

Ideal scenario for us: Denver, WKU, Middle, ULM (fat chance), and UALR all win.

North Texas / Sun Belt fan in-conference rooting priorities:

1) Middle doesn't lose except to us

2) West wins games against East teams

3) Short term: Ken McDonald keeps his job through the 13th.

How much does McDonald make ? Just curious what kind of money they would spend on his replacement

Don't remember the number, but he actually got hit with a pay cut after last season. Took it to avoid getting fired.

Why West over East? I assume this is for RPI but I'd rather win division. I'm not worried about RPI this year for North Texas.

I know your line of thinking is tied to the RPI, but I will be rooting for UALR to lose, because they are ahead of us in the west. Winning the west should be priority one for seeding purposes at the conference tournament.

Maybe overthinking it a bit?

You can root against UALR in other games versus the West. Because we play the Western teams twice, it'd be better for us if our Division dominated the East.

That said, once February rolls around, I'll root against anyone who is ahead of us in the standings.

Yup. This 3 line rooting guide only applies for as long as we CONTROL OUR OWN DESTINY!!!

I don't think UALR will make it through conference at 15-1. But for us, Lauren Holly has been hinting around that we've got a chance.

I'm still rooting for East vs. West. We'll need all the help we can get to win the West. I know it's better for RPI if the West wins, but I'd rather have the banner and be a #16 seed (vs. finish 2nd in West and get #15 seed).

Next year, maybe I'll go back to rooting for the East.

CMJ and Tasty can take dock me on my fan rooting report card. D is for Diploma.
