How many more games do you think we lose?

We potentially could lose only 1 more game. I think we will split with Denver, and might have 1 - 2 additional losses that make us pull our hair. Remember: young team.

If we lose 5+ more going into Hot Springs, I suspect some wheels fell off.

Am I being too optimistic predicting about 2 - 3 more losses? Middle is tough this year, but we get them at home.

One... and its either to Denver or Middle Tennessee. We still pull off a nice 22-7 record heading into hot springs. We are just too athletic for the belt.

Honestly? I think we go something like 10-6 or 11-5 in league play with most of those losses coming in the first eight games. By March we'll be rolling and will be the 4 or 5 seed, and considered to be the dangerous floater in the draw that no one wants to play --- ala our 2007 championship squad.

This. 20 wins and I'll be doing cartwheels.

Yea, Denver is good. I think we lose one to them, but I think Middle Tennessee might be better. They look real good. I'm glad we have them at home this year.

The scary thing about Middle is that they haven't had their full compliment of players I believe for any game this season. Jason Jones, their leading returning scorer and a pre-season all conference pick has played just 6 games and both Kerry Hammonds and Torin Walker have missed time. If they get everyone healthy for conference play they can be scary good if Kermit Davis's over-coaching ass doesn't pucker up tight as a snare drum.

Chase Hallam is starting to score again for Denver...they're deeper and better than past years, but they don't worry me as much...JJ has figured them out pretty well and I think our length at every position won't allow Denver to exploit mis-matches (i.e. posting Stafford up on Josh) the way they like.

USA is starting to put it together as well...they've been without one of their better players, Xavier Roberson, for a good portion of the season and guys like Freddie Goldstein, Antoine Lundy and Mychal Ammons have really been playing well in Roberson's absence. That team goes to the glass, too...23rd in the nation in rebounds at just over 40 a game (UNT is around 38 a game)...they're not big like LSU, just super aggressive.

Also, really shouldn't over-look FAU...they're much better than their 4-8 record would indicate as they've played a pretty brutal schedule, both in terms of competition and travel. Ray Taylor seems to be out of the doghouse and is playing well...Greg Gantt missed a few games but they've 3 or 4 other capable scoring guards in Bertone, Grier, Richardson and Mavin.

And hell, ULL beating UCF merits their mention in the SBC race. They've been up and down, but JJ Thomas has missed a good deal of time...I think they're a step down from MTSU, UD, USA, FAU and UNT, but not to be over-looked.

I would take 10-6 in a heartbeat. This team has got to find an outside threat if they expect a better than .500 conference record. Jordan Williams can be that guy if he learns to balance confidence with basketball common sense.

I'm thinking .500 in conference play with a deep run in the conference tournament once this team matures a little.

Agreed. I could see us maybe getting 12 or 13... But a team this young is going to have off nights that can't be overcome. At this point, I'm expecting 10 and realistically hoping for 11.
