Who says students and Greek Life don't have school spirit? Go Mean Green!post-35345-0-26338200-1324513882_thumb.j

What you don't see in this photo are the 500 Greek students outside the stadium Tebowing with a beer in the other hand. (Some are passed out Tebowing on a couch)

Yeah, I guess that kid forgot to wear his Florida jersey while he took the picture. Or a nice Longhorn jersey. Everybody always complains about how there's a lack of school spirit in Denton. Yet when someone makes an attempt at doing something cool (At least give the guy props for paying tribute to Fouts), everybody starts moaning.

I was planning on coming back into town to root for Williams, Jones and Mitchell whoop up on LSU, but I think I'll stay home now. There's probably a good Big 12 game on. Or I'll try to live stream some SMU women's basketball.

We don't need transfer (who I'm sure has a very valid reason for leaving)s.

Like the photo. Not sure what everyone is upset about. Oh, emmitt, at least the Greeks show. Where are the Talons? You know, the official spirit group that gets funds from the university to do nothing.

Im not one to defend Talons right now, and I'm pretty sure Emmitt won't be either, however, in response to your question; The Talons do come to the games. I thought it was the Greeks who weren't showing?

As to the photo, Not really sure how it is supporting the university.

As for MeanGreenBaby, if you're getting butthurt about this thread and aren't going to the LSU game, then maybe your screenname is accurate.

On Tebow, I'm not sure what is with all of the hate. I think alot of it is that people hate him because they are jealous that he has the courage to stand up for his beliefs.

Greeks are constantly out supporting NT athletics. There are often times late in the football season when some stay behind at the tailgate while other Greeks go into the game - but at least they're at the stadium. No one is perfect, but no one is all bad. Believe me, Greeks want to see NT have success just as much, if not more, than any other undergraduate demographic. We've all got the same goals here and this kid is just having fun and wouldn't be posting to this board if he didn't care a great deal about our dear MG.

EDIT - forgot to mention for the record though that Tebowing is bunk

I'll be sure to use the sarcasm asterisk next time. Kinda like a bouncing ball for the slow kids.

What courage he has to stand up as a member of the majority of Americans. I'd be more impressed with any athlete who had the courage to come out as an atheist, or prayed to Allah on the sidelines. That would take some guts.

I'm sure you are not alone among those who would heap praise upon someone for doing anything other than celebrating a christian faith.

If he were espousing atheism or Muslim faith, there would be a thousand articles about how brave he is to do this in that environment, but because it's Christianity, he is derided and made fun of by media and even other players. To me, he IS doing the most courageous thing by showing his Christianity.

Funny that people don't see the double standards in today's society.

Yea you white male christians have to deal with so many double standards these days. My bleeding heart goes out to you all.

Lame...you obviously are not aware of the crap people take for "showing" publicly their support for their beliefs such as Tim Tebow does. I have respect for anyone...any belief set...that has the courage to stand up (in a proper way) for that belief set. If you don't think it takes courage for Tim Tebow (and others) to do this, you might want to leave the house more often.

Give it a try in a crowd of say...200-300 even and see what it gets yoyu...maybe at the mall....might change your attitude a bit.

This is why Aaron Rodgers is better than Tebow in every way.

But you know, I'm just a Christian who finds a lot of what his father Bob Tebow stands for creepy and intrusive, so what do I know? I mean, it takes a bold man to walk into a country (the Phillipines) that is 80% Catholic/Christian and tell the world no one on that island has ever heard of Jesus or religion because it's not the flavor/spice combination he prefers.

It does take courage and brashness to do what he does, but it would also take a level of courage for me to wear bottomless chaps to tonight's basketball game. Both are pretty solid attention-grabbers and we would be better off without either one.

As many contradictions as the bible contains, there are several places it directly says "hey, tone it down, showboat." I'm good with that sentiment. Also, this should end well.
