Chris Jones is ballin. 20 points, 4 boards, 5 assists, and 4 steals tonight. This guy absolutely fills it up, and his FG% is rising by the game. Not to mention, his shot is starting to fall. Don't be shocked when he AND Tony end up on 1st-Team All-Sun Belt.

Meangreenball, stat geek site that it is, actually gave Jordan Williams, Franklin, Walton, & Hogans A's in addition to the big 2. I'm not sure I've ever seen them give that many of our guys A's before.

The first half was pitiful on all counts. They got rollin in the second half though. Thursday, T-Mitch and CJ are gonna get more minutes and we're gonna have to put together 2 good halves. I think we will. When T-Mitch gets in shape, I feel bad for the Sun Belt. Also, we need to get him more touches. He's proven that he's not going to take bad shots, and he always(nearly) makes the right pass. Even his turnovers would be good passes if the recipients were paying attention.

I agree... there were times when we could have easily lobbed it into him but instead just swung it around the perimeter instead

Also lost in the shuffle-

Holmen didn't play much if at all in the 2nd half of the Jackson State game, spent a lot of time in the locker room/tunnel. Didn't dress out for tonight, either.

Tyler Hall didn't dress out tonight, either.

Forrest Robinson seems like he's being shut down for a medical redshirt. He still isn't walking transfere right, and I don't think he was even in the building against Jackson State.

And why did Niko not get a lot of minutes? he seemed almost pissed in the second half when he came in and had no fire.

Alonzo and Kedrick both looked good in their minutes, while Niko let a pass from Tony go right off his hands and out of bounds.

With Tony getting max time to find his legs, Roger Franklin playing great, and Alonzo/Kedrick making the most of the extra maneuvering space Tony's presence allows them... Niko just happened to be the odd man out tonight.

Holmen was sick apparently. He should be back for LSU. Fortunately, we are deep enough to absorb the loss. If anything, I wish he played guard. We have plenty bigs(Tony, Ked, Roger, Zo, Niko). I guess he should get time at the 3 with Jordan at the 2. Also, am I the only one who thinks we should roll a huge lineup(CJ, Jordan, Tony, Niko, Ked) AND a small lineup (Trey, CJ, Alzee, Jordan, and Tony) for at least a few minutes each game. We are so versatile, and we should take advantage of it.

Ok, so let me know if I'm following this correctly. Does the board automatically replace the word "transfer (who I'm sure has a very valid reason for leaving)" with "transfer"...if the answer to that is yes, why is transfer spelled incorrectly, and why is the board replacing the word "transfere" with an incorrectly spelled "transfer". I've seen this happen twice with "transfere".

EDIT: WTF.

EDIT #2: The board is changing the word Q U I T E to T R A N S F E R E.

Look at the first 4 letters in your Q-word. They don't exist in our vocabulary.

Wow...it seems super obvious now. I still would have expected the computer to be able to discriminate between the two words.

It can. But it won't. It mustn't.

Not transfere ideal, but ultimately essential. No backsliding. Mike Leach- who was a controversial but frequently mentioned fan consideration for head coach at North Texas, wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

THE FORUM IS SAVED.

You a part of Big Brother?? Say it isn't so!! Pretty soon you will be wearing a Richard Nixon shirt and casting a postumous vote for Barry Goldwater to complete the transformation. Such a transferer you are.

On a serious basketball note, after watcing Niko get pushed around down low last night, I doubt he sees 5 minutes of playing time against LSU (at least I hope he doesn't).

It does say good things about your program when a guy like Niko is the 10th or 11th option for your team.

I think it is safe to say that Niko was brought here to be Peja, not Dirk.

You wouldn't know it by the way he has been used. And if that is the case, you are going to ask him to play defense against a perimeter player??

Gotta remember there is 2 ends to the basketball court, and Niko absolutely kills you on one

We were his only major college offer. He is a guy that will give you 5 to 7 minutes off the bench, and in that roll, he is some great depth to have.

I think once he's in full game shape we'll see Tony Mitchell play about 30 minutes a night...I think he starts at the 4, but will probably see time, especially in closing games with either Franklin or Holmen at the 4, at the 5...maybe about 10-15 minutes a night. That leaves about 25-30 for the troika of Niko, Zo and Ked. None of those 3 have showed much consistency to speak of...however they have all had solid games and can all contribute.

Ked was great last year as the secondary post option and may well excel in that role next to Mitchell through conference.

Zo brings toughness and energy for short bursts and he seems comfortable in that role.

Niko is the most offensively skilled of the three, but seems to lack strength and toughness on the defensive end.

Having 3 experienced essentially bench players to choose from up front is a great luxury. I doubt anyone really separates from the pack, but I'm more than comfortable with a big-man by committee...one night Ked may drop 8 and 8, the next Niko may knock down a few 3s and the next Zo might throw down a few dunks, rip 10 boards and bitch slap LaRon Dendy.
