Since we love to try to make every college football story out there about us...

I contend the Ohio State bowl ban is good for the Sun Belt and UNT. The Big Ten has 8 bowl slots to fill. The Big Ten usually has 9-10 bowl eligible teams, that number shrinks by one next season because of Ohio State's post season ban. Ohio State will be a better program next year and bump off one or two of those borderline bowl eligible teams. Big Ten will come up a team short for Little Caesars bowl against the MAC. That should sit well for the SBC to fill the spot.

Meanwhile USC can fall off the football map for multiple years and OSU gets to tweak and settle in under the Urban sun and shine in 2013.

Weak. College football is really a seedy enterprise.

Then NCAA lost all credibility on the Ohio State issue when they didn't suspend the players for last year's Sugar Bowl.

Sadly a 1 year bowl ban and 9 scholarships is a big punishment for the NCAA.

No, they lost all credibility in their response to the Miami scandal.

What is this...NCAA you speak of? Don't they oversee the football playoffs of teams like Sam Houston St and Montana? Last I checked, the governing body for professional teams like Ohio St, USC and Miami was the ever omnipotent ESPN.

This is so true about ESPN. They are the true governor of college football. Their money talks and they need Texas, Ohio State, Alabama, USC, etc..to be available for TV. NCAA really should just admit this.

What a joke of a punishment. The NCAA, once again, proves it is a gelding.

What are you talking about? This Ohio State mess will get some serious attenion on future infractions committed at lots of MAC, WAC, SBC, CUSA, and MWC schools...Troy, Ohio U.,and La Tech better watch out!!

You do realize that the Miami scandal is still under investigation and more importantly that without subpena power the NCAA is essentially impotent.

Yeah, I know it's "under investigation" but I will belive that when I see it.
