Have a hard time heading to the Hilltop with a coach that has shown he is looking elsewhere, lied regarding why the Arizona State job fell through and has a fanbase that doesn't care for the head coach. Seems to be a tense situation over there. Why would you want that when we have a very stable coaching staff and more to offer in the future?

Lifer, I sort of agree but I think most of these kids are not oblivious to the fact that this is what happens in college football. I could be wrong but I don't think it makes that big of a difference for most kids unless he's a highly touted quarterback and there are head coaching changes and changes up a whole offensive scheme etc. But either way I think it is premature to assume anything regardless of what that poster on the SMU board was saying.

Agree. I think most of these kids understand it's just part of the game. SMU will likely "lose" 3-4 kids over the recent issues, but nothing huge. I put the "lose" in quotes because I'm not sure they were ever coming to SMU.

As far as Walling, I hear SMU has been following him for a while, but they really tried to beef up the line with some Juco kids. SMU doesn't need young guys as much as they need guys that can play next year. There are many factors that go into why a recruit picks a school. I never get too worked up when a kid switches, and you shouldn't either if he switches to SMU. TCU snagged Carter Wall last year, it happens. I promise this won't be the last kid that switches between SMU and UNT (if he does switch)...next time it may go the other way.

Honestly, I just posted this hoping a recruit would read this thread. I'm well aware of how the recruiting game works. We stole a player from TCU a couple of years ago that Transfer this year, adding to my belief that it doesn't matter how many stars a kid has now, but how he develops in two or three years.
