Dustin Clark displayed a variety of talents during his senior year at Borger. He rushed for 100 yards in one game while filling in at running back and gave his team fits while playing safety in practice on occasion.

What Clark really did well, though, was get to the quarterback.

It was that talent that attracted the attention of college coaches across the country, including those at North Texas. Clark (6-1, 205) is among two players who have orally committed to play for UNT in the last few days.

The Mean Green also picked up a commitment from Coppell offensive lineman Sam Rice.

Oral commitments are nonbinding. The first day recruits in the Class of 2012 can sign national letters of intent is Feb. 1.

“North Texas recruited me as an outside linebacker who blitzes,” Clark said. “That is what I do well. I get low and want to beat everyone to the ball.”

"Clark said he chose UNT over offers from Wyoming, Colorado State, Louisiana-Monroe, Kansas State and Vanderbilt."

Ummm.... so we beat out two BCS schools, 2 MWC schools and ULM. This kid must have something in store for us... that is for sure! Welcome to both Dustin and Sam!

WOW. For those thinking this was an undersized under recruited commit, you're wrong, plain and simple, I'm glad we got him over the rest of those schools. Kid should be a nice compliment as a junior to Stok on the outside when he is a senior.
