After initially committing to Southern Methodist University while also considering an offer from the University of North Texas, Frankston running back Treston Coleman switched his commitment last week, choosing to play his college football at UT-San Antonio.

Coleman changed his choice to the Roadrunners after making an official visit to the campus earlier this month.

He’s expected to be able to play running back at UTSA, where as SMU wanted him to focus on playing linebacker.

Coleman said he was “excited” about the opportunity UTSA presented, while FHS coach Sam Wells called it a “good fit.”

“He felt pretty good about UTSA,” Wells said. “They’re up-and-coming, they’ll play a full (Western Athletic Conference) schedule next year. It’s a pretty good fit I feel like.”

My money's on he was not holding a valid offer from North Texas when he chose UTSA. In fact, I have real doubts that he still had an offer from SMU.

I'm glad that he's found a fit at UTSA. May he enjoy the WAC.

The SA paper in the last two weeks has said that basicly the recruits are shown the dome & river walk since the facilities on campus suck. This was followed up by the same writer saying football is probably DOA in the wac.
