This guy was a sure-fire lottery selection a couple of years ago before the injuries set in. Now, it looks like he may not even get drafted.

Now if you're the Mavericks and he's still there at the end of the second round, would you be interested? I know he doesn't fit in the run and gun game very well, but he can definitely be a stopper in the middle, which is the obvious need area. I think I would take a shot with him (what else are you going to get at the end of the second round?)

All is contingent on him passing a physical, of course.

I agree. If he gets healthy, and if he returns to pre-injury form, and if he can get back in shape, then he could be the steal of the draft. That's alot of ifs to overcome.

Besides, the Mav's only look for slow white big men.

The Mavs...slow?

Just their big men. Let's see, through the years they have had Bradley, Eschmeyer, Blab, Lloyd, Nemphius, etc....

Well Marcus may not be white, but still slow. The last few sentences make me really hope the Mavs don't draft him.

Marcus' stock dropped after another injury plagued season during which he barely saw action. When he was healthy, Marcus wasn't to be confused with the game's top centers, but he used his size well. Not particularly quick or athletic, Marcus can score and knows how to rebound. If only he could shake the lingering effects of a stress fracture in his left ankle. Marcus told The Charlotte Observer in mid-May that he may retire. He has not been cleared to exercise again and probably won't work out for NBA teams.
